Jane is a qualified Nurse with a PhD, a degree in Law and MSc Dementia Studies. She qualified in Coventry and worked there for five years gaining experience on acute medicine and ENT and general surgery.
My mission is to deliver a care approach that is directed by the person which is truly centred around them and their connections.
Jane then moved to the States of Jersey where she worked as a Staff Nurse, initially working as Primary Nurse in post-operative convalescence, and then moving to the general hospital, female surgical ward. Her work was very much valued resulting in her nomination for Jersey Woman of the Year.
Following her return to Britain, Jane held a position of Staff Nurse in a small private care homes in Morningside, Edinburgh before moving to the Earl Haig Fund (Poppy Scotland) managing their residential care home.
Following completion of the assessor and verification awards, Jane spent some time in training before becoming Director of Community Services for a Housing Association where she was responsible for leading and directing the managers and staff of our care homes.
Jane moved to the Scottish Borders to work with Scottish Borders Council as the strategic lead and lead commissioner for older people, people with dementia and people physical disabilities, latterly she become Principal Assistant before joining Queens House.
