The new home was designed and constructed to accommodate and provide the features required in a modern nursing home.
The thirty-two single bedrooms all on the ground floor (each 15.75 sqm) with en-suite facilities (each 4.5 Sqm).
Thirteen rooms have patio doors leading to a courtyard area, with the remaining rooms having low-level windows to allow easy views.
There is a treatment room, visiting services room and a quiet sitting room.
A family room is also available, providing overnight accommodation where necessary.
Residents and their families have full access to our gardens, using a wheelchair friendly pathway that goes round the home. The gardens also have a number of patio and seating areas available to all.
All rooms are linked to a nurse call system and 24-hour care is provided by our professional nursing and care staff in a relaxed homely environment. We welcome and encourage residents to bring small items of their own furniture and possessions to increase this feeling of homeliness.
In addition to this, residents at Queen’s House benefit from the following:
Special diets catered for on request.
Spiritual needs met by Kelso Churches Together.
Other visiting services such as hairdressing, podiatry, etc.
Activities and entertainment arranged by our Activities Coordinator.
Private telephone access can be made available in rooms.
