Murray House

A centre of excellence for dementia care on your doorstep

DEMENTIA affects around one in six* people over 80 in Scotland.

It is a very individual illness and the best care needs to be equally individual.  It’s natural for those seeking care to want to stay close to those they love, and the community where they’ve grown.  Yet many people currently have to move out of the area or travel further afield for specialist dementia care.

At Queen’s House (Kelso) Ltd we have created a state-of-the-art dementia centre called Murray House, a new development  opened in December 2018, next door to our existing  home, which will provide 18 dedicated places for Scottish Border residents with dementia.

As part of a project sponsored by Comic Relief we have a professional life story scribe encouraging residents to share their life story.

Murray House and Evanthea House were officially opened by their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on the 30th September 2019.
