Since 1954 Queen’s House in Kelso has been providing the highest standards of residential care for elderly people in the Scottish Borders. We are proud of the reputation we’ve earned with local families and of the consistent ‘Excellent’ ratings we’ve received from the Care Inspectorate.

History

The original Queen’s House was opened in 1954 as a residential home for 32 people under the auspices of the British Red Cross Society (Scottish Branch) and run by a voluntary committee.

Facilities

The new Queen’s House home was designed and constructed to accommodate and provide the features required in a modern nursing home, with thirty-two single bedrooms all on the ground floor and all with en-suite facilities.

Murray House

The opening in December 2019 of Murray House, a state-of-the-art dementia centre fulfilled a long held ambition of the Trustees.  Murray House provides 18 dedicated places for Scottish Border residents with dementia.
